Standard Pipe is pipe that is used for transmission of ordinary substances such as steam, water, air, etc. The three manufacturing methods that are used to create standard pipe are furnace weld, electric resistance weld, and seamless. The furnace weld is the fastest production method, but does not qualify to meet high pressure applications. The electric resistance weld is typically the best method to use when creating long lengths. It also gives the pipe equivelant wall thicknesses as well as strong concentricity. Seamless is exactly how it sounds, pipe that is manufactured without a seam. It is great for applications that need high pressure yields and is also used when a heavy wall thickness is required.
