Pipe Bollards are relatively skinny posts (between 5”OD-8”OD) that are usually a few feet in length. When bollards were first created, they were used as mooring posts for large ships coming into various ports. Because they proved to be so successful as mooring posts, pipe bollards quickly became more prominent, especially for directing different traffic patterns. Bollards come in many various shapes and sizes, but the most durable type of bollards are made out of steel. These particular bollards are now used to navigate traffic patterns away from certain areas and to keep traffic flowing in the correct direction. Other than alternating the flow of traffic, you can use bollards for pretty much anything you may need a sturdy vertical post for.
